Description
AiM LCU One CAN Lambda Controller
The AIM LCU-ONE Lambda Controller monitors air/fuel ratios. Connected to a dash display, the LCU-One S will perfectly tune the carburetion of your engine and maintain it at peak performance.
LCU-One S controller allows to perfectly tune the carburation of your engine to keeping it at its best and improve the engine’s performances. It uses a wide band Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor, used for its capacity of saving the original calibration for the duration of the sensor’s life. In fact, Bosch LSU 4.9 probe has been designed to last for more than 100,000 km on a stock car.

AiM LCU One S Lambda Controller
The AIM LCU-ONE Lambda Controller monitors air/fuel ratios. Connected to a dash display (MXL2, MXG, MXP, MXS, Solo2 DL) or logger (EVO4S, EVO5), The LCU-One will perfectly tune the carburetion of your engine and maintain it at peak performance.
The LCU-One S Lambda Controller is supplied with a wide band Bosch LSU 4.9 probe (designed to last for more than 100,000 km on a stock car) and is compatible with petrol (2 and 4 strokes) methanol as alcohol-based fuel engines.
This air-fuel ratio information that the Lambda provides is essential for a tuner. The fuel input, power output and air-fuel ratio present in the exhaust form the basis of all fuel tuning. An engine with too much oxygen present in the exhaust is titled ‘lean’ and will shorten the engine’s life.
Alternatively, low oxygen readings in the exhaust may represent a rich engine receiving more fuel than it needs. Seeing these figures while tuning a car allows the tuner to make fueling adjustments on the fly and determine the optimal lambda figure.
Full Control Of Your Engine
The LCU-One S can detect lambda values from 0.65 to 1.6 (a value lower than one means a rich mixture, while a value higher than one means a lean variety), offering you an exact measurement.
LCU-One S points out possible oxygen excess/lack in the carburetion by analysing the remaining oxygen, providing essential information for four strokes engines and two-stroke engines.
Configurability of Stoichiometric ratio allows LCU-One S use on petrol-powered engines and diesel or alternative fuel (biofuel, ethanol).
Bosch LSU 4.9 Probe
The Bosch sensor measures the proportion of oxygen in exhaust gases of automotive engines (gasoline or Diesel).
The wideband lambda sensor LSU 4.9 is a planar ZrO2 dual cell limiting current sensor with an integrated heater. Its monotonic output signal in the range of lambda 0.65 to air makes the LSU 4.9 capable of being used as a universal sensor for lambda one measurement and other lambda ranges.
The connector module contains a trimming resistor, which defines the characteristic of the sensor.
The main benefit of the LSU 4.9 is the robust design combined with the high Bosch production quality standard.
Installation
You should install the lambda sensor at the point, which permits a representative exhaust-gas mixture measurement, which does not exceed the maximum permissible temperature.
Install at a point where the gas is as hot as possible.
Observe the maximum permissible temperature.
As far as possible, install the sensor vertically (wire upwards), with the tip not being vulnerable if another kart bumps into you.
The sensor is not to be fitted near the exhaust pipe outlet so that the influence of the outside air can be ruled out.
The exhaust-gas passage opposite the sensor must be free of leaks to avoid the effects of leak-air.
Protect the sensor against condensation water.
The sensor is not to be painted, nor is wax to be applied or any other forms of treatment. Use only the recommended grease for lubricating the thread.
